Yet another fail cosplay event in Singapore. It isn’t actually very surprising considering that this is one of the so called minor cosplay events. And with these events come Bleachtards/Narutards/D.Gay Men/L/Vampire Farts cosplayers. They seriously need to get the fact of overdoing such characters has no value or whatsoever in them. Even if your scouter says that their power level is over nine thousand. ^^;

The cosplay competition kicked off at 2:30pm having the eager audience staring at the empty stage in The Central Market of Clarke Quay for the past 1 hour. And to compensate for that, the emcees for that day were 2 cute loligoths (well, maybe the left one only is ^^;). The panel of judges for the competition were Jesuke, YukiHoshi, the director of AFA’08 and some random dude. They were 18 contestants in total and some of th- Just look at the photos of the event and you decide for yourself.

Judging from the photos that the members of sgcafe.com have taken (credits go to respective photographers), do not misinterprete that Singapore’s cosplay standards are that good, for I have only shown the good parts. There was indeed an equal amount of cosf***ks roaming around here and there and providing tonnes of laughter for me and my company who was there.

And another thing, there were quite a few “casual cosplayers”. Be casual and cosplay only half of the character’s costume? It’s only a shield to cover up their laziness. Pft. So if you’d like to see the full array of cosplayers who were at the festival, please proceed to sgcafe’s photo threads and have a chance to damage your eyes. An example of fail cosplay.

Yes yes, my standards for good cosplay are indeed very high. It may seem abit harsh to others, but c’mon, do no humiliate yourselves by doing something you are not fit to do, or at least show some effort in it. Out of the narrow range of the excellent cosplayers, only 2 managed to make it to my “l33t cosplay” list: Agnus from Capcom’s hack and slach game, Devil May Cry 4 and Simca, from Air Gear.

Now, Agnus was totally awesome with imitating his style of t-t-t-t-alking, which is to s-t-t-t-utter. Making it an instant win. His height also suited Agnus and his size as well. A superb cosplay.

And as for Simca, she is extremely hot. The cosplayer’s poses also portrayed Simca’s kinky and flirtatious character very well. HELL YEAH! Which reminds me that I need to catch up with the Air Gear manga. T-T

Heh. After a long rant, what say you about the standard of cosplay nowadays? Both globally or locally. For me, SG’s standards are deteriotating (as a whole cosplay community). Either that or minor events like these just does not quite cut it and I can’t say much about the Matsuri altogether as I only attended the cosplay event. ^^;
